This is a short post on something newly discovered... Apple Cider Sorbet.
Pause... now before you go ahead with the "Raè-you-are-behind" accusations, I will have you know that I tend to stay away from cold treats in the fall-winter time. However, I was babysitting two young boys and one just so happened to lose his first tooth at the time. Out of curiosity, I asked him what he wanted to do to celebrate and his older brother answered, "Let's go to Ample Hills" the younger one agreed...and off we went.
Now, my first time visiting Ample Hills was with another young one who raved about their chocolate-chip-ice-cream-cone. This was earlier in the year when the sun was out and the grass was green, yet still I decided to stick to my strawberries and nutella snack.
Needless to say, this time, I was strawberry-less and Nutella-less. Thus, Ample Hills for me it was.
The two boys ordered what they ordered and I contemplated for awhile on what to get. Now, anyone who knows me knows I am a sorbet-gal. Sure, I'll have ice-cream here and there, but sorbet is my muse. So after what seemed to be ages (the two boys were close to finishing their cones and I still haden't paid for their order....I'm a libra deal with it), I decided to go with the Apple Cider Sorbet, otherwise known as Autumn in New York.
Zero complaints. And at the moment, one could tell.
I'm looking forward to trying out the birthday cakes, or just cakes in general really, when the time comes. But if you are in Brooklyn, stop by Ample Hills and have a delight or two. I had no idea what the rave was about before I tried it myself.
I guess kids do know best....hmm....sometimes.
