yes Yes YES! The second post of April is a treat post! I normally, or try to anyway, publish a post on treats towards the end of any given month (last week of a month) typically because I like to end the month on a good note....and food is good, yes? agreed? But for now...let April be an exception.
There is this one spot I visited earlier this year with two amazing friends from high school. We were able to meet up again yesterday and of-course had a great time catching up on life. And we figured... what better way to catch-up than over some cocoa?
Raè loves her chocolate.
Done and done.
So we graced ourselves with some treats from The Chocolate Room in Cobble Hill. It tastes better than it sounds #truth. The spot is great for any and every occasion. Personally, I enjoy stopping by with close friends to just chit-and-chat. You can easily get lost in conversation and end up being the last group present over tea or espresso as the spot closes up twelve-midnight. It's seriously just that good. From cakes, ice-creams and teas, to cocoa bars, wine and brownies, you'll soon see why all is worth trying out [check out their menu here].
But, out of the entire menu, there is this one cake I do recommend this month...
The chocolate chip almond cake.
One friend went for the espresso over ice-cream which, after I had a taste, tasted pretty amazing. I really like the mellow-settled tone to this treat. I found the ice-cream complimenting the espresso more so than the other way around. Planning to treat myself to this on my next cocoa room visit.
If you are a chocolate lover and almond craver, do check out the chocolate room. They are also located on fifth ave in Brooklyn if court street seems too far. Either way, try the cake with some ice-cream and be prepared to be blown away...or order seconds if you so please.
Another recommendation is to be spontaneous and skip food time for a treat or two.
Because sometimes, dessert is better to have first.
